This study was undertaken to explore a new model for children to experience cultural diversity. This paper will discuss the plan, operation, and evaluation of a diversity experience program for preschool education. Four sessions were conducted to connect abroad kindergarten children through remote communication system with a Japanese kindergarten – Ono Kindergarten. However, the focus for this paper will be on the latest session with France. The program was designed to allow children to experience a variety of cultures through play. As a result of the sessions, there was a noticeable change seen in the children’s awareness of diversity. Children began to recognize diversity when connecting children from other countries. The experience provided by the session created a stronger interest for overseas culture and language in the children. This paper will go into further detail about the program and suggest the new future of preschool education for a global society.
