Abstract: Assessing dental clinical skills in conventional laboratories based on professional experts’ judgment can be subjective and prone to human errors. Dental tutors only assess student’s final worked-out (a prepared cavity in a plastic or in a real tooth). With the use of advanced haptic technology a virtual dental chair (the hapTEL system) was designed to replicate the real dental chair with 3D vision, sense of touch and sound feedbacks.
