Abstract: Along with many other institutions, our institution is dealing with increased incidences of online cheating and plagiarism. With a completely online college that works primarily with adults returning to complete degrees, these challenges appear to be magnified. These challenges include adult students who may not recognize what is involved in proper citation and how to define the differences between paraphrasing and quoting; dealing with adjunct instructors who may not be completely invested in the College's mission; and course design that lends to increased opportunities for cheating or plagiarism.
