Abstract: Poverty, war, conflicts, and other forces of global turmoil are constantly challenging how developed nations design their processes for immigration in general, and civic orientation in particular. This paper focuses on an exploratory study of the challenges coupled with the digitalization of civic orientation in a region of West Sweden – and concludes with a set of five tentative design guidelines for how to design for heterogeneous groups of end-users.
