Abstract: The development of quality pedagogy for the e-learning environment is imperative for universities that are responsible for educating distance learners. However, adapting a face-to-face course for the e-learning environment can be challenging for many educators. To support teaching credential students, California State University, Chico has implemented an online learning format that provides quality education through both the modification of traditional learning forums as well as through innovative practices that provides access for students and rural communities to credentialing classes. Strategies discussed and demonstrated will include course organization, portable video cameras, and mobile software to successfully develop a course for the e-learning environment. Samples of courses and data will be shared on best practices to resolve common challenges of teaching an online class. This session will provide strategies and that participants can use within their own e-learning courses.
