Abstract: In America, educator Professional Development (PD) consists of lecture style or hands-on workshops often accomplished with long PowerPoint presentations. Some add online technology to develop content as Webinars. Our project engages teachers in an Online Professional Learning Exchange (OPLE) which leverages Web2.0 tools in a Moodle environment to deliver content and allow users a medium for discussion and sharing as well as greater control over the experience. Though current projects focus on material aligned with the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) our model can be applied generally. In this paper we discuss how the ADDIE model was employed to develop, test and refine the OPLE and we provide the structure and layout of a module based upon lessons learned from the project. Finally, we conclude with a discussion of some of the advantages of the OPLE format for PD over traditional PD environments.
