Abstract: Online and blended/hybrid learning environments are steadily increasing in all areas of education, including becoming part of courses that typically require a high level of socially constructed learning, like science. This study intends to inform on the effect a blended learning course has on elementary pre-service teacher candidates’ confidence, content knowledge, and pedagogical content knowledge related to science. Results of a preliminary study suggest that teacher candidates gained scientific content knowledge but gained little in the way of pedagogical knowledge as they participated in one module.
