Abstract: To meet the international demand for Finnish teacher education, Tampere University of Applied Sciences has implemented an online teacher education program since 2011. The program is offered globally in English in both fully online and blended format. The program is designed using authentic e-learning pedagogy and a progressive inquiry framework and requires the participants to reflect upon their professional identity. This case study examines the experience of the most recent cohort of participants who are based in Sao Paulo, Brazil and teach a variety of age groups and subjects. The case study focuses on the participants experiences of the various technologies used to facilitate the learning process. These include a formal LMS and informal use of Facebook social media. The paper seeks to better understand the participants’ use of these tools in their learning and how that knowledge might be used to improve the experience of future cohorts.
