Abstract: Language Massive Open Online Courses (LMOOCs) present a series of challenges concerning the methodological approach to promote meaningful language learning tasks and the tools required to promote meaningful interaction, key feature in the process of learning a language. This paper describes a new type of LMOOC, the tandem MOOC, which exploits to its advantage the massive feature of MOOCS in order to offer language learners opportunities for speaking interaction online with native speakers of their target language.
