Abstract: A survey was developed based on the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) to assess the readiness of students to use online learning in a rural community in the Northeast of Thailand. The responses imply that students use mobile technologies extensively, which has implications for the design of e-learning. Students have some experience using applications and social media that are utilized in e-learning; but still need to be guided to use other collaborative learning tools.
