Authentic Role-based eLearning for Vocational Education – The NetEnquiry Approach
Abstract: This paper explores the innovative mobile learning approach in authentic situations offered by the NetEnquiry tool developed at the University of Paderborn, Germany, in cooperation with the company Ingenious Knowledge. The tool offers a way of simulating entire process chains in an authentic scenario that prepares learners well for their roles in future jobs. In the text we take a closer look at mobile solutions in modern education, then describe the idea and concept of NetEnquiry and take a closer look at the elements that were implemented in the software. Finally the first qualitative evaluations are introduced and an outlook on chances and opportunities is given.
