App-based Interactive Language Learning – Pedagogy, Implementation and Evaluation with the AGnovel Tool
Abstract: Apps and mobile solutions are becoming more and more important in modern education and language learning. This paper explores new opportunities to use modern touch screen devices in order to enhance the learning experience of the learners. Therefore, the paper provides an insight into the AGnovel tool and the integrated learning tasks as well as specific identification figures and motivational aspects. Story-oriented learning, which combines writing, reading, listening and speech production, is the basis of the motivating app-design that engages the learner in both the scenario and the flow. Moreover, the text focuses on the qualitative evaluation of the tool and its implementation possibilities and chances for future language learning activities.
