Abstract: Computational thinking, the core of computer science, became critical learning skill for all learners. In order to cultivating computational thinking, learners have to design problem solving process to solve efficiently and effectively and represent in a form that the computing system performs. Above all, designing problem solving process is very important in that it minimizes the trial and error to solve the problem and improve the efficiency. To this end, in this study we designed puzzle based algorithm learning for improving computational thinking of informatics gifted students, analyzed responses of students, and drew improvements on PBAL. According to the results, we find out that students interested in PBAL and learning motivation was induced. But the adjustment of difficulty and learning strategies overcoming difficulty is needed. Based on these results it was proposed the possibility of PBAL for improving CT of informatics gifted students.
