Abstract: In a recent survey by Faculty Focus, a list of best practices for training and retaining faculty were presented, noting faculty community and timely support were two of the best practices (Hill, 2016). In an effort to have continued outreach and participation from faculty, we created a New Faculty Outreach Program. This program implemented two of the main elements Hill (2016) noted for successful new faculty programs: sense of community and timely support. Once new faculty complete their initial faculty on-boarding training, they are sent a follow up survey to connect with a faculty training specialist within one month of training completion. This outreach strives to engage new faculty giving them a chance to ask questions and be directed to university communities. To assist faculty with a more diverse connection with stateside and global faculty, this outreach program utilized Google applications and Jive’s Engage platform to engage new faculty in community connections.
