Abstract: In recent years, science laboratory courses have shifted to a focus on scientific inquiry, challenging students to ask questions and design their own experiments. At the same time, demand for online courses has increased. Many science departments have struggled to marry these two priorities, as instructors wonder how to create online labs with opportunities for students to engage in experimental inquiry.
