Abstract: Computers and mobile devices provide learners with dynamic and affordable interactive tools to explore, experiment, and manipulate variables to create active knowledge in constructivist environments. One recent interactive tool is the interactive Excel spreadsheet or excelets (Sinex & Halpern, 2010). Excelets are interactive spreadsheets with a simple instructional interface that allow learners to view and interact with multiple variables in order understand their relationships and underlying phenomena replicated in the model.
