Abstract: The authors improved a survey to measure first-year university students’ fundamental knowledge of information and communication technology (ICT) The survey comprises 40 multiple-choice questions covering 14 learning areas The author conducted the survey with first-year students at his university from 2013 to 2017 In this paper, the author compares the average scores overall and in each learning perspective, as well as the correct answer rates for individual questions over five years
