Abstract: More than half of college students use the digital content that accompanies textbooks. Publisher’s digital content (PDC) is accessible either via integration with a learning management system (LMS) or through the publisher’s website via a hyperlink (URL). Our pilot study investigates if one delivery method of PDC yields better results or is preferred by students taking an online course. After implementing a course design to eliminate many factors that can impede the PDC success, we measured students’ preferences and observed their performance. Results indicate that students prefer integrated PDC and the embedded content contributes to their success.
