Abstract: Walking into a situation where you are the new faculty advisor in town for a student media organization can be overwhelming for both the new faculty and the students! A case study of two student media organization faculty advisors depicts the trials and tribulations of accepting a student media organization advisor role – and how to effectively start in this position. From coming in as a brand-new faculty member, taking over for a retiring faculty member and taking over from a retrenched faculty member many points will be covered based on the lived experience of the presenters.
