Abstract: Presenters will share details about a WebCT-based project involving students in an elementary math practicum and a secondary social studies methods class. Pre-service teachers in these classes worked collaboratively to develop, implement, evaluate, and present a lesson plan that met both quantitative and civic literacy objectives. They communicated by WebCT in project-group chat rooms and whole-group threaded discussions, accessed informational documents, presented lesson plans for group review, and posted final lesson plans and final project presentations for peer access. Presenters will describe the project and share analyzed data based on survey results, online discussions, and final project products. Findings and implications will be centered about the positive and negative aspects of the lesson development/planning project and associated technology use, as well as impact on the pre-service teachers’ attitudes toward technology for personal and professional use.
