Abstract: WebSTAR, a curriculum design tool designed to promote intercampus collaboration among teacher education faculty and their classes, was developed in response to the increasing demand on teacher education faculty to utilize and model the use of the Internet with their students. A pilot project was conducted with social studies methods faculty in 2002-03; subsequent modifications were made to the design and the process was extended to 3 other WebSTAR activities in 2003-2004. This paper defines the structure and design of the WebSTAR tool and reports on the perceptions of faculty and pre-service teachers on how WebSTAR facilitated powerful teaching and learning.
