Using Blogs as Research Tool to Examine Classroom Practices and Classroom Characteristics
Brief Paper
ID: 15474
Abstract: The No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) has had a significant impact on student learning, including some unintended consequences. This paper will discuss some of the changes in classroom practice that impact a broad range of learning. A research approach that uses teachers’ web-logs (blogs) to gather and analyze data on the relationships that potentially exist between actual classroom practice, the presence or absence of attributes of highly effective schools, and student performance on the NCLB-mandated tests will be presented and analyzed.
