Abstract: Although the research base on digital teaching portfolios, both traditional and digital ones, is growing, there is much to be learned. Currently, however, a thorough literature review on the topic does not exist. This paper provides a brief literature review of empirical research about digital teaching portfolios in teacher education. The focus of the literature review will be on research conducted in the past five years to provide a shared understanding of how digital teaching portfolios are defined, implemented, and assessed.
