Abstract: This brief paper describes an exploration of four schools offering gifted education programs in Russia, two in Moscow and two in St. Petersburg. Some schools required residential living, others were traditional week day school programs. One school employed teachers with dual positions, as university professors, in order to apply research and new knowledge in of support of program development and understanding of the gifted learners. Technology was not well developed in these four schools, nor did the schools use daily or specialized technology to inform or advance learning, teaching, communication, or information transfer in the four schools described in this 10-day visit. Outcomes of this travel experience include professional relationships that resulted in an online instructorship for a G/T graduate course, research collaboration, and cultural connections in teaching and learning.
