Abstract: As the demand for and number of distance education programs increase, so does the need to ensure the quality of such programs. They require special instructional design considerations that set them apart from traditional programs. Therefore, the evaluative criteria should also require differential considerations when compared to the traditional teaching and learning environment. The purpose of this study was to explore in depth the practices of two exemplary online teachers.
