Abstract: To best apply theory to practice, teacher education candidates are engaged in multiple field experiences from beginning of the teacher education program to the end. When faced with more than 500 field placements each semester, one university looked to technology as a means of tracking its candidates’ field placements. Over the past two years, this university has developed, tested, and refined a database system using Microsoft Access to track the joint determination of field placements, the variety of settings visited, and the diversity of student populations present at each setting.
