The Use of Weblog-Based Portfolios in Teacher Education
Abstract: The purpose of this project is to investigate a human-computer experience via a weblog system platform for student teachers to build their professional development in the format of electronic portfolios. The weblog system also worked as a community in which the teacher education advisor, student teachers, and student teaching peers collaboratively reflect on each others’ ideas and thoughts. In-depth interviews were also conducted and participants’ weblogs contents were analyzed to collect data to understand student teachers’ perspectives for their use and creation of their student teaching weblog-based e-portfolios. This process helps to investigate this system in its application as well as its possible impact on student teachers’ professional development.
