Abstract: Results of a technology use survey among preservice teachers revealed ownership of multiple devices and a wide-range of daily applications. Talking on the cellphone, text messaging, and using the computer for educational purposes were the most frequent daily activities. Face-to-face interaction was also prevalent, especially with friends and classmates. Different communication modes were selected based upon type of audience and message. The results of this study are relevant to courses for preservice teachers, especially those courses that include a focus on integrating technology into the K-12 curriculum.
