Enhancing Faculty Development: Reflective Practice and Self-Assessment to Promote Learning
Abstract: Graduate students enrolled in many programs both within the United States and abroad must posses the necessary knowledge and skill-sets in order to function in today’s information and educational technology arenas. With so many aspects and sub-domains within each area, it is easy to see why many graduate students have difficulty grasping the IT/ET marriage. Thus, in the academic sense, graduate students attempt to study both hard and soft technologies, physical placement and connectivity, an over-abundance of software applications, and the constant relationship and dialogue that ensue between each. This study presents one example of how graduate students engaged in participatory learning, reflective practice, and self-assessment in order to overcome deficiencies in the areas of information and educational technology.
