Abstract: The Learning Formative Assessment Systems and Technologies (Learning FAST) program was designed to help teachers utilize technology to develop and track classroom formative assessments and to build an online community of middle school math teachers. The online learning community was created to establish an ongoing online support system for teachers as they moved from theoretical principles to long-term changes in classroom practice. During year one, seventeen fifth and sixth grade teachers were part of the online learning community. An additional fourteen fourth through seventh grade math teachers participated in year two.
