Abstract: Public teacher produced web sites are moving targets for teaching professionals. The means by which they are produced and maintained varies from one district to another. This study researched four core questions: (1) Do teachers have an updated Web page, (2) are the sites being viewed, (3) in what way(s) do the teachers profess their use of Web pages, and (4) what do parents want on teacher Web pages. Many teachers had pages in the researched district, however, the updating of pages varied widely among schools. 21 district personnel never developed a Web page. 73 of 201 assigned pages were up-to-date to the end of the school year. Web sites were viewed on average 3.9 times per day at one school. Tone of teacher pages was a revelation; nearly half are negatively intoned. Teachers primarily use sites to post class activities, but parents want more content hyperlinks.
