Abstract: Preparing technology-proficient teachers to meet the needs of 21st century learners critically challenges teacher education programs across the country. A successful teacher education program teaches teachers well, so they can in turn teach their students well. Teachers are the link between information technology and the students. This research seeks to understand the contemporary realities of technology use in teacher education programs that have acquired a reputation for having successfully integrated into their programs. My research looks at a large sample of teacher education programs across the country that have acquired a reputation among their peers for having successfully integrated technologies into their programs. My long-term goal is to understand what makes for well-designed and successful technology integration.
