Abstract: The growth in online delivery systems in higher education requires examination of practices that enhance student learning and quality indicators for these environments. This includes research that contributes to the development of new pedagogical models using educational media, evaluation of interactive distance learning environments, and research on teaching strategies for using current and emerging technologies to support student interaction, collaboration, and engagement (Hara, Bonk, & Angeli, 2000). The study examines student engagement in a graduate online course in mathematics, science and technology after the addition of audio and video content. Student interaction over three semesters; one control semester, one semester with the addition of introduction videos to each unit and one semester with the addition of video content was examined.
