Abstract: The International Handbook of Information Technology in Primary and Secondary Education (Voogt & Knezek, 2008) provides researchers, policy makers and practitioners with an integrated and detailed overview of this complex field. One of the important outcomes from the publication of this handbook was an international Summit held in The Hague in the Netherlands in June 2009. The summit gathered professionals, policy makers and researchers in the field of information technology and education to jointly discuss the implications of research findings for practice, policy and further research. The summit resulted in a Call to Action, which will be presented and discussed in the symposium.
