Abstract: ePortfolios are emerging as a common practice in teacher education programs to demonstrate that students have met the standards in their program of study. ePortfolio development involves careful planning, reflecting, organizing and evaluating. The proposed presentation will describe a pilot project that uses ePortfolios in a graduate educational leadership program. The unique aspect of this pilot is the method of assessing the pilot itself. A participatory assessment approach is being used in which the ePortfolio team is systematically investigating student perceptions of ePortfolio and how they would like to see portfolios used in their assessment. ePortfolio implementation is being evaluated not only from the institutional point of view but also from a student perspective. The presentation will discuss instruments and preliminary findings, as well as how learnings from the school leadership program are being applied to the teacher education programs.
