Abstract: This exploratory study identified the characteristics of successful photo bloggers as perceived by graduate students enrolled in a photography class. Most participants were teachers who had experience in some form of photo blogging. A content analysis, based the responses given on a final exam question, revealed six reoccurring characteristics that were placed in the following rank order: writes tags for photos, provides descriptions for photos, has an organized web site, edits photos, gives titles to photos, updates and revises the web site, and creates a visually appealing photo blog in chronological order.
