Abstract: This in-progress study evaluates a pilot implementation of an open source productivity suite (OpenOffice) in a public K-12 educational institution. Using the framework of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), this study will investigate user perceptions of ease of use, usefulness, and acceptance of the OpenOffice suite for K-12 educators transitioning from a commercial productivity suite. The results of this study will provide the foundation of developing a larger-scale implementation plan for expanding the use of OpenOffice throughout the district.
