Abstract: I have always loved technology, but mostly for others. The options were clear to me-- for students, for engagement, for message extension. But again, mostly for others. After all, my classes were special, unique. My students too. Discussion boards were nice, sufficient. One day it happened to me. I was asked to move words into action, theories into practice. They asked me to put MY graduate class online. This is my story. I found that I am not different from my colleagues in Teacher Education, except that I recognized the irony in not walking my talk and possessed a vivid feel for what was possible. How did I make the transition? How did I look at myself? What guidelines drove my decisions? How did I change? What did that first course look like? How do I know if it worked? How did I guide my students and myself to continuously improve these efforts? And where to from here?
