Abstract: This paper discussed how Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) ,Ile Ife used modern marketing strategies and integrated media technology to enhance teaching of Science and Technology related courses and to provide equitable access to higher education using the Open Distance Learning Approach (ODEL). This was at a time when the country was experiencing poor funding and a decline in the quality of education due to bad economy. In order to restore the past glory of the university as an international academic institution, the university adopted the principle of modern marketing using blended technology to address the challenges of gender inequality, poor infrastructure, poor funding, and provision of equitable and quality education with emphasis on Distance Education. This was done with the ultimate aim of meeting the targets set by the United Nations as reflected in the Millennium Development Goals and the vision of the Society for Information Technology and Teacher Education Conference (SITE 2011).
