Share Paper: Embedded Digital Textbooks in Online Courses: Case Study of Enrollment Trends, Outcomes and Student Satisfaction

Abstract: Brandman University completed a pilot program to combine delivery of embedded digital textbooks and the corresponding online course from the same online location. This paper discusses the pilot program results for enrollment, student retention, and course completion rates which were measured and compared against online classes using a physical textbook. Although this is not a scholarly research study, these factors were of interest as outcomes of the pilot program. Findings showed no difference in enrollment or student retention between online courses utilizing digital textbooks and online courses utilizing physical textbooks.
