Abstract: The increasing number of students admitted to universities puts a burden on academic libraries and makes orientation tours insufficient and time consuming. Researchers see the provision of academic courses for freshmen students as a necessity. This paper attempts to evaluate the effectiveness of teaching information and computer skills to biological sciences freshmen students at Kuwait University and see if there is a difference in acquiring information technology skills between male and female students.
