Abstract: Free and Open Source Software tools (often referred to as FOSS/ FLOSS) are being used in teacher curriculum writing and multimedia pedagogy projects in teacher preparation programs and K-12 enrichment activities in a major southwestern university partly through the support of a number of agencies including the National Science Foundation and the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.
