Raising the Bar in Virtual Training - Using Hub and Spoke to Enhance Facilitator/Learner Interaction
Abstract: In efforts to reduce the cost of live training as well as to provide greater flexibility to learners, many employers, including PricewaterhouseCoopers (pwc), have converted live training programs to virtual delivery. While generally meeting course objectives, learners at pwc consistently commented on the loss of interactivity and networking opportunities with their peers. Further, learners were concerned about the lack of application opportunities within the synchronous training environment. In response to this feedback, pwc recently successfully redesigned several course offerings, using Centra in a "hub and spoke" approach that allowed us to achieve the cost benefits of virtual training with the desired interactivity of live training. In this presentation, pwc representatives will discuss program design, logistics and facilitator preparation challenges as well as lessons learned from this conversion.
