Abstract: This paper demonstrates ways teacher moderated social networking sites can facilitate the reduction of student stereotypes, raise cultural awareness, and improve geographical literacy. The author models blogging activities that use cultural consultants from Suriname, Denmark, and Morocco to demonstrate how students can reduce stereotypes and raise cultural awareness, as well as communicate issues directly related to the content area.
