Abstract: Ubiquitous Games or UbiqGames offer students a new paradigm for learning. These casual games optimized for mobile browsers allow players to play in short, frequent bursts of time, enabling them to be played interstitially throughout the day. Biology teachers can assign gameplay as homework, and can access player data via a teacher portal, identifying areas where student are progressing or may be having difficulty. In Beetle Breeders, the first of four UbiqGames for Biology, student run a beetle breeding business while learning Mendelian genetics.
