Abstract: The purpose of this study was to investigate the diffusion of information technology into learning institutions. Everett Rogers made popular the diffusion of innovations in the 1960s and at the same time, Eric Trist and Fred Emery introduced the theory of socio-technical systems. Through these ideas, information technology diffusion and integration has been done successfully. Socio-Technical Systems Methodology was developed through the synthesis of Rogers' and Trist and Emery's work (Kisling, 2006). There are several assertions made from this study.
