Abstract: Online education has the reputation of having an ongoing problem with a high DFW (Drop, Failure, Withdrawal) rate. The solution to reducing the DFW rate for online courses isn't a magic bullet; it's a series of small steps that address course and program design as well as online pedagogy and instructor facilitation.
