Abstract: This paper offers a practical, yet research-based, guide for college and university administrators and instructional technologists who are planning for the implementation of an online/hybrid faculty development course for new online/hybrid instructors. In addition to several strategic steps, the authors suggest gathering longitudinal data over the course of several semesters to help the instructional technology department determine program effectiveness and sustainability. These outcomes will allow the instructional technology department to shape further offerings and provide a robust online/hybrid learning environment for students and faculty.
