iTeach: Using the iPod Touch in Education
Friday, March 11 1:30 PM-2:00 PM Location: McGavock's A
Abstract: Through grant funding, over 100 upper division education students were equipped with an iPod Touch for a semester at a time. The students were encouraged to use them in all aspects of their daily lives, from their school placements to their library research, from their classroom note-taking to all night study sessions. Two years into the project, an abundance of data has been gathered. Blogs have been utilized to share curriculum integration ideas, multiple K-12 classrooms have been impacted, and the students are excited about the possibilities. The paper focuses on the successes and challenges of the research, as well as insight into an emerging technology.
