Abstract: The use of exergaming in physical education is an area of increasing research interest. Pre-service teachers’ attitudes toward exergaming play a vital role in the implementation of the exergaming into their future teaching. The purpose of this qualitative study was to investigate the benefits and challenges of the exergaming, particularly Dance Dance Revolution (DDR), from pre-service teachers’ perspectives. Participants were 23 pre-service physical education teachers enrolled in a southern university. The participants indicated that DDR could improve players’ self-efficacy, social interaction, physical fitness, and academic achievement. Although fun and enjoyable, limited equipment and space were pointed out as major challenges of incorporating DDR in teaching. Sufficient budget and support from administrators and classroom teachers are needed to incorporate DDR in teaching.
